Tub-to-shower conversion services

We remove the existing tub and rebuild the opening as a walk-in shower. Plumbing, framing, waterproofing, tile, fixtures, and glass are handled as part of the project.

How a tub-to-shower conversion works

Each conversion starts with the existing bathroom. We check the space, plan the new shower, and confirm the work required before demolition begins.

  1. Consultation

We inspect the existing tub area, discuss the shower you want, and check the surrounding bathroom.

  2. Measure & plan

We measure the opening and plan the shower size, entry, fixtures, drainage, tile, glass, and any required plumbing changes.

  3. Written quote

You receive a written price and project schedule before the conversion starts.

  4. The build

We remove the tub, prepare the framing and plumbing, install waterproofing, tile the shower, and complete the fixtures and glass included in the project.

  5. Walk-through

We inspect the completed shower with you and address any remaining project items.

Tub-to-shower conversion questions

Can any bathtub be converted to a walk-in shower?
Most can. We look at the drain, the framing and the walls at the consultation, then plan the shower around what the room allows, including a curbless entry where the floor can take one.
How much does a tub-to-shower conversion cost?
It depends on the room's size, whether the layout changes, and the fixtures and finishes chosen, so we do not publish a price list. We come to the house, measure, and put one price and a schedule in writing before any work starts.
Do you pull the permits for a tub-to-shower conversion?
Yes, where the work needs them, and we manage the application and the inspections. Forestville, Guerneville, Occidental, Graton, Monte Rio, Bodega Bay and Penngrove are unincorporated, so their permits go through Permit Sonoma; Sebastopol, Windsor, Healdsburg, Santa Rosa, Rohnert Park, Cotati, Petaluma and Sonoma have their own building departments.
